About International Health Care Center (ICC)

The National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) is one of the 6 national centers in Japan administered by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. As the only national center functioning as a general hospital, we are directed by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare to enhance medical care for international patients from overseas.

We have a history of offering consultation to international patients who seek to visit us for medical treatment and offering support to those who need medical care during their stay in Japan. To enhance framework for such activities, we established “International Health Care Center (ICC)” on April 1st, 2015 and strive to mitigate language and cultural barriers in healthcare communication.

Please feel free to contact us if you wish to consult about medical issues such as sudden illness, planned examinations and treatments, request for acceptance of a patient transported emergently from overseas.

To patients without Japanese Health Insurance: If your condition is not an injury or a sudden illness, you are required to contact us before visiting.
